My 365...

Is it over yet?  This has been once crazy marathon of a week!

Today was the last day of the move as I wanted to get the U-Haul back before 6:00pm.  Jack went back to the old house to wrap up the last of the packing while I was at the new house with the boys getting settled.  Brandon let RayRay and Dozer outside in the back yard this morning, and when it was time to bring them in...Dozer was gone.  He had slipped out the back gate.

Brandon and Casey took off immediately to find him with no success.  Poor Blake was in tears.  :*(  After over an hour of searching I called Jack to come join in the hunt.  He drove home and did not find him on the way either so he took off on his bike thinking he would have more success.  Two hours had passed by now and Jack approached an elderly lady walking down the street, and asked her if she had seen a big white dog.  She had, and pointed Jack in the direction of the house where she had seen him.

The couple there had found Dozer and knew he had to belong to someone so packed him in the car and drove to Petsmart to see if he by any chance had a microchip (which I will be getting right away!).  When he did not, they brought him back home to search for us but Jack found them first.  *sigh*  Long story short, we got our Dozer back!!  Thank God!  He can be such a doofus at time, but is such an important member of our family.

"Mama, I'm home!"
Blake so relieved to see his best friend.
Guess what Dozer is getting for Christmas?  A microchip and a GPS collar!  We will never lose sight of him again.  I am going to have to do the same for Ducati and Miss Lilly and maybe RayRay too!  The dogs are always inside with us so we never worry about them getting lost.  Boy have we learned a valuable lesson.

All that is left of the move is cleaning up the old house, and we will work on that next week.  I am too tired to tackle anything "move related" for the next 24 hours at least.  Poor Jack has worked himself so hard.  So have Brandon, Casey and Blake.  I am so thankful for them.

Thanksgiving was to be tomorrow, but Jack has to work until 3:00pm so he wants to celebrate it on Tuesday.  I thought that was a good idea as well.

Tonight for dinner we had some baked chicken, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce and garlic bread.  It was delicious!

Yummy chicken dinner.

I can only imagine the turmoil of it all! And that must have been some big gap in the fence for him to get out. A microchip is a great idea or at the very least your information on a collar for people to contact you when they do find him and are kind enough to take him in. We have "secured" two stray pups in our neighborhood this past year and were lucky to track down their owners. Neither had info. on their pups. Having a phone number to call would have made the tracking down much easier for us. Enjoy the new home! And we had chicken for Thanksgiving also :-)
