Doggy Daily

Doggy Daily for June 30, 2010

I decided it was time to clean out Miss Lilly's castle today.

Not 20 minutes had passed since I had it completely cleared of all her stolen goods, when I glance over and see this...

All I could see was her ears poking out from the pile.

And she looked at me as if to say..."Yeah, so, what are you looking at mama?"

She is such a mess...lol

Goodbye June!

Goodbye June 2010!

Welcome July 2010. :)

My 365...

Goodbye June, hello July! Another month down in my 365.

Today a random picture of our favorite vegetable, an artichoke. Simply steamed and served with melted butter flavored with lemon pepper and Parmesan cheese, the boys and I LOVE it!

It is hard to believe that something that looks so frightening, can be so delicious!

Thank you June 2010 for the great memories, and welcome July 2010 I am sure we will make many great new ones!

Alphabet Challenge, Letter T

T is for Turtle. No, he may not be a real turtle, but he is a cute turtle none the less.

I like turtles. :)

See you on Friday for the letter U!

Miss Lilly

"Hi my name is Miss Lilly, and I am a hoarder."

She pulls everything she owns into her little castle. I do not know how there is room for her in there with my slippers, Blake's slippers and all her stuffed animals.

Lazy couch potato that you are. :)

It is what's for breakfast, lunch and dinner...Tillamook Vanilla Bean yogurt covered with fresh blueberries!

No, I am not on some insane diet, I just love it! So tasty, and just happens to be good for you.

It is much cooler today thank goodness. After a high of 101 degrees yesterday, the current temperature is 80 degrees. More to my liking thank you very much.

I need to get to work so have a fabulous day interwebs...I know I will! :)

Until next time...

Doggy Daily for June 28, 2010

I was letting Dozer out for his morning business, and I have to tie Miss Lilly to her castle or she will follow us out. Dozer can not stand going outside with Miss Lilly because she jumps all over him!

I am standing in the living room waiting on Dozer and I hear strange shuffling sounds coming down the hallway...

"Miss Lilly! What in the sam hill are you doing?"

"Who me? Oh nothing mama, just checking the shocks on the castle."

"Miss Lilly, there are no shocks on your Castle, now you take that back to the bedroom where it belongs right now!"

"Uhmmm...mama? Carry me?"

Oh Miss Lilly, you "stinker" you!

Gotta love her. Needless to say we need a little more work on her "stay" skills. LOL! Silly little puppy.

Until next time...

My 365...

Happy Monday Interwebs. It is an "oh so toasty" 93 degrees hot today! Summer is officially here, but that is okay it does not last long here in Idaho. Maybe 6 weeks of really hot weather. Today is supposed to get up to 98, but the July 4th weekend forecast says lower 80's which will be nice.

The boys and I had a nice quiet peaceful weekend. I really love it just being the three of us. No fighting, no drama, no nonsense. We love being together and that is all that matters. I love my boys. :)

My photo of the day is this cute magnet I have on my white board. I do love all dogs.

Of course Ducati might take offense to being called a "mutt!" Sorry Ducati, all dogs are mutts. Otherwise you would all look like wolves...and you don't.

Have a great week!

Alphabet Challenge, Letter S

S is for Strawberries, fresh and sweet! We love strawberries. :)

Be sure to join me on Wednesday for the letter T!

Too bad there are only 26 letters in the alphabet, this has been fun. :)

My 365...

Some more beautiful color from my world today. I have always said that the Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons, but since living in this new house I have a new appreciation for Spring and Summer.

I was thinking today about being a mother, and what it means to be a good mother. As a mom I have always corrected my children where they needed correction.

"It is not my friend and me, it is my friend and I."

"Don't chew your food with your mouth open."

"Take care of your body, stop eating so much unhealthy food."

"Close your legs when you are sitting down. Act like a lady...or act like a gentleman!"

"Watch your language."

"If you have nothing kind to say about someone, do not say anything at all."

"Stop being so negative about everything."

"It is not necessary to shout, I hear you just fine."

What does all this mean? This means I care about you, I want you to be your best, I want you to shine.

What this does NOT mean is...you are not good enough, you will never amount to anything, you do not meet my expectations so I am throwing you out with yesterday's garbage.

When did being a good responsible loving parent become being an abusive, uncaring, judgemental BAD parent?

Well it has not. As far as I am concerned it is my responsibility to raise a self assured, healthy, positive child into a well mannered, well adjusted, confident adult.

I was not judging you, I was not telling you, "You are not good enough", I was simply telling you to be your best. I was telling you your behavior is unacceptable.

It is so easy to blame our parents when life does not turn out the way we want it to isn't it? I say enough of that. My parents were not perfect, but they loved me. If I was doing something they did not approve of, they told me.

If they did not care, they would not have said a thing.

If you look within yourself you will see that you were loved. Did I judge you harshly? No, I "parented" you and I did my best because I love you.

You have made your choices and now you live your life. Your parents were not perfect, but they love you. You may choose to throw us out with the bath water because we do not give you everything you want when you ask for it, but we are not going anywhere. I am still your mom and will always be. No one or nothing can change that.

You will understand this someday when you have your own children. At least I hope you will. I hope you will love your children enough to tell them when they are behaving badly. I hope you will teach your children proper manners and how to always be respectful of others. I hope you teach them proper grammar and how to spell the simple words. Tell them "the fire is hot, do not touch it"...rather than stand by and watch them burn because you are afraid you might hurt their feelings being honest with them. Hopefully you will be blessed with a little "you" so you will understand me.

This is a picture of my mom's beautiful HUGE family. My grandparents were very strict and you can see the respect from each and every one of those children. Their lives may not have been perfect, but I can bet they did not spend their adult life blaming all of their own short comings on their parents. I know my mom did not. She loved and respected her mother and father until the day she died.

I am a mom, I am a great mom, I will always be a mom and I love my children. Once you leave my nest it is up to you where and how you fly. My nest will always be here. It will always be that soft place to land should you chose to land here.

And to my mom, my grandmother and my auntie Magdalena, thank you for all the love and respect you shared with me. I love you.

Doggy Daily

Doggy Daily for June 26, 2010

"Look mama, both of my ears work!"

Miss Lilly seems to have gained control of that droopy right ear.

Now both ears stand straight up!

She looks a little more like a four legged Vampire Bat than a Min Pin...lol A tiny fragile little Dracula!

Maybe I will call her "Little Miss Vampur Butt!" :)

She is such a smart little girl. She knows all her commands before I give them, I think she reads my mind, and now when she darts out the front door she comes right back when I call her.

At night she comes up to my desk chair and whimpers so I can pick her up and let her sleep on my lap. I think she is a little spoiled too.

We love her!

My 365...

A warm 84 degrees and clear skies today. A perfect day to work on the yard.

A few more of the Princess Irene Day Lilies have bloomed, and there are even more coming up in the rock garden. They are so beautiful.

And the most adorable gardener in the world, Blake. :)

After we finish the yard, he wants to bathe the dogs. I have no idea where this boy gets all his energy!

Bathing Miss Lilly, easy peasy...bathing Dozer...OOF! That is a job!

Hope you are all having a lovely sunny Saturday.

Until next time...

Good Night!

See you manana! :)
