October 31, 2013 ~ Happy Halloween!

My 365...

Happy Halloween planet!

Tonight I got to spend Halloween with the people I love, my sons, daughter-in-law Amber, and my precious grandchildren Cooper and Penny.

It is definitely one of my favorite holidays.  Dressing up is so much fun!  Brandon and Amber went all out to dress up for their children, and I think that is amazing!

Hope your Halloween was exciting and safe.  :)
I had so much fun painting my face and Blake's face.  Thank you Datev Gallagher for the great makeup tutorial!
Casey had to work tonight, but he paused for a quick photo with Blake and I.
Blake decided to wear the gas mask for trick-o-treat fun.  It is always a big hit!
Sweet baby Penny loves her uncle Garrett.

I took a selfie with my Penny and I...minus the scary makeup or course.  :)
My precious grandson Cooper.
Beautiful daughter-in-law Amber.  Her make-up was awesome!  She was pop-art version of Lois Lane.
And sweet baby Penny in her little devil costume.
Ready to go trick-o-treating!
Son Brandon the Minion, and Cooper is Thor.  SO ADORABLE!
Blake and Penny.
I told Brandon he looked like a Brave-Heart crossed with an Evil Minion...lol
Brandon and Amber.  I love them!

My 365...

Four day weekend for Blake starts now...yay!  He is so excited about Halloween tomorrow.  So am I.  We will be trick-o-treating with Brandon, Amber and my grandchildren.  It will be an awesome evening.

Son Casey had quite the scare last night.  He was walking home from work just after midnight, and had a bullet buzz right passed his head.  He heard what sounded like two gunshots, but kept walking.  Then the third one zoomed passed his left ear enough to leave him pretty freaked out.  He called home and Garrett took off to meet him.  By the time Garrett arrived, so had the police to investigate calls of shots fired. Way too close for comfort!  Thank God Casey was not hurt that is all I have to say.  Guardian angels were watching out for him.  We never found out what happened unfortunately.  I am praying it was a very isolated incident of extreme stupidity on someones part. Boise is a safe city, and I would like for it to stay that way.

Way too much excitement for mama this week. I am ready for some peace and quiet around here.

Have a very safe and happy Halloween if you celebrate!  Until next time...
A lovely day in Boise today.

My 365...

We are enjoying an uneventful day today, uneventful is a good thing.  Jack is resting, recovering from his surgery and is doing well.  The surgeon called this afternoon, and surgery part 2 is scheduled for next Thursday, November 7.  Praying that it goes as smoothly as yesterday's procedure went...with a good final result.

Casey finally made it home yesterday too, and it was so good to see him.  Casey has a very upbeat and silly sense of humor that keeps me laughing, and after a day like yesterday, I needed that.  "Thank you Casey."

Blake had a flat tire this morning, so Garrett drove him to school.  It would have been a nice walk home, but Blake hates walking home from school alone so he called me and asked me to come get him.  I did not have the keys to the Explorer, so what does mama do?  I rode my bike there, and made him sit on the back of my bike on the way home.  lol  It was hilariously fun, and a heck of a work out for me.

Hope your day was delightful planet.  After a full day of raining, the sun was shining today.  I love a beautiful sun-shinning day!
Waiting on his mama taxi...
Not exactly what he had in mind.  LOL
I handed Blake my camera and told him to take a few shots on the way home.
My Blake.  :)

y 365...

Today was surgery day for Jack.  He did make it through okay, which is the good news.  The surgeon was able to go into the artery of his left leg, and place a stent just behind his knee.  He was not happy about the choice of placement, but did not have any other options.  The right leg was much more complicated.  Jack has had some clotting in that leg that has caused some damage, so he was unable to do any repairs or stents.  The plan is to start Jack on some Plavix, and wait a couple of weeks and try again.  Unfortunately Jack is not a good candidate for bypass due to the condition of his arteries.  The damage to the arteries in the lower legs is pretty bad.

All in all the surgeon was very surprised at how severe Jack's condition is being that he is only 51 years old, and otherwise very healthy and fit.  A family history of heart disease coupled with years and years of smoking have taken a serious toll on him.  The bottom line is that he needs to quit smoking!  I feel for him, because I have been with the man for almost 30 years, and he has never had any success in quitting.  I appreciate how difficult it is going to be for him, but he HAS to do it this time!  NO MORE SMOKING!  I am hoping Garrett and Casey get that message too.

Speaking of Casey, he was beside himself because he was not able to make it back to town in time to be with his daddy.  He was so worried, but I reassured him that everything was fine.  He is such an awesome son my Casey.  All four of my boys are amazing.

Day one of this journey down, and we have a ways to go.  I was overwhelmed with messages of love and support from family and friends, and we can't thank all of your enough for your thoughts and prayers.  There is no greater power than prayer, so thank you.  *love*

Jack is home now and will be resting for the next few days.  Then in a week or two, the surgeon will go in and try to fix his right leg.  Blake and I knew daddy was going to be okay when the nurse had him stand up for the first time after surgery to test out his legs, and mooned us all.  LOL  That man!

Hope your day was a good one planet.  Until next time...

 Yummm, hospital food.
Blake went down to the hospital gift shop, and bought me a little surprise.  :)
Yep, daddy is ready to get the heck out of the hospital!
