Happy New Year!

Hello Interweb Friends,

As 2009 comes to a close, I reflect on the past year and all the trials and tribulations and even though it was rough at times, I realize that I have been so blessed. We came out of the hard times to shine on the other side. And as difficult as things did seem, I look around at the world today and I can be thankful. We honestly really don't know hard. Life is good.

My resolution for the coming year has nothing to do with diet and exercise, as that should be a given. We should always strive to be healthy and fit, and that should not be reserved for "resolution" time. My wish for myself for 2010 is to be the best mom, teacher, aunt, sister and friend that I can be. Appreciate my family, and always be there for them no matter what may come. And thank God every day for this life and never take one single person or thing for granted. :)

Best wishes to you all for a healthy, happy and prosperous 2010!

Best Friends :)

Let it snow!

Good Afternoon Interweb Friends,

We had a little snow in the valley last night, so it was nice to wake to a blanket of soft white covering the ground, it is a clear beautiful day today. One thing I love about this great city of ours is that the air is so sweet and the weather is perfect 98.9 % of the time. Having been raisedin Texas, it is great to experience true seasons! I love you Texas, but I don't miss you much. I miss my family, but not the unseasonably warm temperatures. I just need to get my sisters to move to Idaho, and then life would be perfect!

My exercise for the day is going to be cleaning the house from one end to the other while listening to some great music on my iPod. I am sure there will be some serious calories burned the way I clean! Time to move furniture around a bit too. I like to mix it up every now and then to make my space feel new. :)

Don't think I will get much help from this little guy. Shhhhh, Blakey is sleeping late today. He looks so sweet when he is sleeping.

Have an awesome day!

Hello Intraweb Friends,

I hope your post Christmas days have been peaceful and restful. It is so hard to fathom that Christmas has already passed. I am sure I will be keeping my tree up a bit longer as it is just too lovely to take down.

My son Garrett, purchased a beautiful Nikon CoolPix camera for me, so now mama can take pictures with a real camera and not my faithful old Blackberry. I will be posting many pictures of our daily adventures I am certain.

Here are the first pictures I took with my camera. A picture of my son Garrett, and a photo of my son Case snuggling with his best friend Ducati.

I will be working on my blog site over the next few days, so please excuse the construction. Also, my daughter will be getting married in April, so the next 4 months shall be designated as "Get Mom in Shape" months. It will be all about healthy
eating and exercise and I will document my journey along the way.

That is all for now my intraweb friends. I pray all is well in your world....

The Musings of a Craft Geek.

Good Day World!

We had a wee bit of snow this morning which was very nice. Hopefully it will be enough to get us through to Friday and a "White Christmas." Of course the foothills are covered in snow, and the ski season has opened on the mountain, so we only have to drive down the street to enjoy some fun.

I snapped this quick little photo with my Blackberry. I really hope Santa brings mama a camera this year. :)

I would like to introduce you to the most brilliantly creative soul I know, my precious daughter Meagan. She creates the most amazing projects, be it crochet, knit, sewing, drawing, beading, photography even writing. She is an all purpose artist!

Here is a link to her fabulous world. The Musings Of a Craft Geek. Photos to her work. And her fabulous hat creations can be viewed here.

She loves to create wonderful little care packages. Here is one her brothers and I received from her recently. The occasion? Just to say, "I love you." The package included hand crochet hats and scarves that are absolutely beautiful, an adorable little felt doll for my desk, a variety of teas and hot chocolates, some brownies and cookies, and a bottle of delightfully scented lotion for the holidays. Absolutely brilliant gift.

Have a fabulous day in your world.

Puppy on Board!

My eldest son Garrett has decided to adopt a baby Great Dane, and we are so excited! He met the puppy yesterday, a gorgeous 4 week old Blue Merle. His name will be Supra, and he will be coming home in 4 weeks! Here is a picture of Garrett and his girlfriend meeting the new puppy, and a photo of the litter's daddy Diablo. What a beauty he is!

Speaking of pups, here is my baby Dozer. He is now 8 years old, and is 1/2 Golden Retriever and 1/2 Great Pyrenees. Truly the greatest dog in the world! :)

I have been working on creating a new blog template for my blog. Being very new to HTML editing, it will be a lot of trial an error for certain. I am great with creating graphics, so learning HTML should be fun! Any graphic elements on my pages I created in PhotoImpact, my favorite graphics program!

Another hobby of mine is photo restoration. You can view some of my work on my main graphic page Veronica Graphics. That is my next project, updating that site!

Back to HTML fun. Have a fabulous evening!

Beautiful Clear Day...

We have had a thick blanket of fog for the last day or so, but it has been a beautiful clear day today. It was also Blake's last day of school before the holiday break. Yay!

It is so hard to believe we are just one week away from Christmas. It all passes so quickly.

A beautiful photo taken today of Blake by his big brother Garrett. I love his photography. He knows how to capture the magic. Thank you Garrett.

Have a fabulous weekend world!

Welcome to Mommy Plus Five

Sometimes you just have to jump...then build your wings on the way down. That is how I approach life. The incurable optimist, glass always half full. :)

My oldest, and only daughter is 23 and getting married next year. We don't always see eye to eye, but I love her with all my heart.

The next four are all boys, 21, 18, 14 and 8. Every day a new adventure and I never know what to expect. Keeps me young.

And finally two amazing canine friends, Dozer and Ducati. Many adventures start with them as well. There is nothing better that a loving loyal dog.

Their father, my husband of 25 years and I are still friends that simply live apart. Perhaps someday we can work out our differences and find common ground.

I love digital graphics, digital scrapbooking, photo restoration and photography. But above all, I love being mom.

I look forward to every new day.

Welcome to Mommy plus Five

I am a work from home mom of five amazing children, and five beautiful grandchildren. Enjoying my 50's and all that life has to offer.

Time to start a new 365.

Thank you for stopping by! :)
