My 365...

Today is a day of absolute and glorious "chill."  No work, no telephone, no cell phone, no Facebook, no e-mail, no school, no nothing. My only electronic interaction for the day will be posting this blog.  Then I will shut-down the computer.

This has been an action-packed month of adventures, and I decided that we should wrap up April by relaxing.  It did rain most of the day, so Mother Nature was telling me to chill as well.  I always listen to Mother Nature.  :)

It has been an amazing month.  And this month is only the beginning of an adventure filled summer of fun.  It is going to be awesome!

Bike Ride, April 29, 2012

Did we make it 30 miles?  No.  :*(  <---sad mama.

We did make it 15 miles though.  Not even 15 minutes into the ride, I felt un-well and a little dizzy.  It hit me out of the clear blue.  I felt fine when we left, and the weather was perfect and cool.  It slowed me down quite a bit, so I told the boys we would not even attempt the long ride, but just make the half-way point and have a picnic.  They were glad, I was terribly disappointed.

Since day one of riding I have felt amazing.  No pain, no discomfort and no limitations.  Today my body reminded me that I am no Spring chicken anymore.  Either that or it was hopefully just a random thing and I will feel better tomorrow.  I refuse to slow down!  I am having too much fun to do that.

The river was higher than usual, and some of the paths were closed to bike and foot traffic as they were flooded.  But a few little detours were no problem.

Packing the picnic.
I was double checking my pack, and discovered I had a stow-away.  Garrett stuck a rubber snake in there to startle me.  He is such a stinker!  :)

We found a new bridge to explore.
This tunnel had a good 2 plus feet of standing water over flow from the river.  Blake and I went around...but Casey attempted to drive through it.  He got soaked!

Of course Casey had cell phone in one hand and lunch in the other.

Something is wrong with this picture?  No wonder I felt like I was riding in circles....lol
Taking a little dip....Casey said "Mom it is so cold I can't feel my feet!"
Blake:  "Mom it is so cold, I can't feel my butt!"
A friend we met along the way.  Photo by Casey.
 Another great photo by Casey.
And another beautiful day with my boys.  <3
Hope you all had a great weekend!  :)

My 365...

Hello beautiful Sunday!

It is time for the big ride.  Well...the sort of big ride.  The picnic is packed, and we are ready to mount our two-wheeled horses.  We are not going all the way to Lucky Peak today, because Jack asked us to wait until he is off tomorrow so he can go with us.  But I told the boys we can still take a long ride on the Green Belt and see how far we can get before it ends.  And of course stop for a picnic along the way.

I was thinking last night, life is worth living by having great experiences.  That is what I am trying to create for the boys.  GREAT experiences.  We have so much fun riding together, acting silly together, laughing together and just being together.  That is what family is all about...that is what life is all about.  We love it!

We have had some difficult times in this family.  We have had some sorrow, pain, frustration, anger and confusion, but we are still a family.  We are stronger today than we have ever been, and that makes me so very proud of us.

We look forward to every single second of every single day and that is the way life should be.

Hope your Sunday is going great!!

My photos of the day...

We had two unexpected guests for tea this morning.....

Blake took these two amazing shots!

It must be ballooning season?  We LOVE ballooning season!!

We are off for our ride.  I will post more adventure photos this evening.  :)

Bike Ride, April 28, 2012

I enjoyed a nice long bike ride with my boys this evening.  It was actually a bit chilly, but we had a great time.

Tomorrow...the BIG ride!  I am going to prepare a picnic lunch with club sandwiches, and oatmeal cookies. I am SO excited!!

My 365...

Hello Saturday.

Today is training day for the big bike ride tomorrow.  I have had to work three hours, so the plan is a short bike ride this evening, plenty of rest, then pack the picnic and see how far our bikes can take us on Sunday.

I truly believe I can make it 30 miles, but the boys are still "rolling" their eyes at me.

We shall see.....

Hope you are having a wonderful relaxing Saturday.  :)
