My 365...

Another month of my 365 done!  I was thinking today how great this blog is.  Not because it is a top notch blog, or visited by a million people a day, but because it is a very cool safe place to store memories.  I love looking back at my pictures and my life and not have to worry about a hard drive crash wiping it all away.

I was also thinking about something else.  I hope God grants me many more years to make memories with my children and with my grandchildren.  I appreciate every day He has given us because I know how fast it goes by.  Never take for granted that tomorrow will come.  And when it does, celebrate it....and don't forget to take pictures, and blog about it!  :)

We took a drive to Garrett's today to let Supra have a run in the yard with Blake.  Too pretty of  a day to spend indoors.

Blake loves all dogs, and Supra the wonder dog is one of his favorites!  Supra is so big and powerful, but careful with Blake.

When he got home, he had to get in some Dozer time.  Here is a great self-portrait he took.  :)

Music I am listening to today, Shawn Colvin.

Until next time...

My 365...

Everything is so green, it must be Spring.

I think for the first time ever, I have Spring fever.  I am a Fall fever person, as Fall is my favorite season.  However, this year there is definitely a change in me this Spring.  I find myself wanting to make some serious changes in my life.  For the most part I am a very happy satisfied person, and life is good.  Lately I feel like something is missing from my life...and I want to fix that.  Time will tell...  :)

Music I am listening to today, Gareth Dunlop.

Until next time....think big, dream bigger...

My 365...

Another quiet Spring Break day.  Quiet is good.  :)

The boys and I had a bit of a rough night last night, but we are feeling better this morning.  Such is life.  We hope that every day will go as planned, but sometimes life has other ideas.  The key is dealing with it in a positive way, find the silver lining, then move on.  We are moving on.  :)

Hope your Tuesday is going well interwebs!

I saw an adorable video yesterday that made me smile.  It is a set of twin boys having a serious conversation in "twin speak", so cute!  It is in two parts....

Twin Speak Part 1  (This one ends in a great "downward facing dog) Yoga pose.  lol

Twin Speak Part 2  Guaranteed to make you smile.  :)

Music I am listening to today, Amos Lee.  I love his song Colors.

Until next time...

My 365...

Happy Monday world.  :)

We had some snow just after midnight...
...however this morning the sun was shinning and there was no trace of winter at all.  It is a bit chilly today, but otherwise a gorgeous day!

We planted some grass seed on the side yard to recover the yard from all the leaves and snow.  Under all that dirt is some new grass growing.  The grass in the back yard is lush and green, now to balance the back yard with the side yard and it will look awesome.  I also want to get new patio furniture and make the side yard a great outdoor room.  Right now it is a blank slate, so I look forward to starting that project.  :)
With all the snow and rain lately, it is going to be a very green Spring!

The boys are on Spring break this week, but unfortunately mama has to work.  :(  I should have coordinated my time a little better.  I know I can fit in some fun time somewhere!

I was thinking a bit more about all the issues with my daughter and I think, no I truly believe, that our children come into this world who they are.  Happy or sad, positive or cynical, trusting or paranoid, gay or straight...loving or judgemental.  No matter what we do as parents, they are who they are from the day they make their grand entrance into life.  How they are raised, where they are raised, really does not have an impact on the person who they are or who they end up being.

Thinking back to where I came from, and the person I am compared to the women and mothers my sisters are is night and day, yet we were raised by the same parents.  The only thing we have in common is genetics.  I look at my sons, and how different they are from my daughter and it makes even more sense. I am always beating myself up, "Where did I go wrong?"  The answer is...I did not go wrong.  She is who she is and has been from the moment she was born.  Nothing I could say or do would change the essence of who she is or who my sons are.  They are their own person, and I love them.  That is all I can do.

Hmmm...it is something to think about anyway.  :)

Music I am listening to today, Leigh Nash.

Have a great week!  Until next time...

Dinner is served!

I grilled some chicken breast marinated with some Mezzetta Pepperoncinis, tossed on some nice greens, tomatoes and cucmber with ranch dressing and a glass of soft wine. Very refreshing "no fuss" dinner for us tonight.  It was delish!  :)

Have a great Monday world!

Ouch! Blake was wrestling with Miss Lilly, and her hard little head smashed right into the bridge of his nose.
But they kept on playing...
...then got in some snuggle time.  :)

My 365...

Happy Sunday world.

I heard a great quote last night, "People are like artichokes, you just have to peel away the hard layers to get to the heart."  And it had me thinking about a person in my life who is layer after layer after layer of hardness, but I know deep down past all of those layers of prickly hardness, is a heart of gold.  I know it is there because I have had a glimpse of that heart a time or two, and it is a beautiful heart.

The key here is to keep at it I suppose.  Keep trying to peel that hardness away and not give up no matter how difficult it gets.  My dilemma is that often the damage to my heart in the process of all this peeling takes a major toll on me, and I get tired.  I don't want to spend the rest of my days with a wounded heart and a tired spirit...so what do I do?  To be honest, I really do not know?  What I do know is it is not in us to give up hope, even when any reason of hope has has faded to almost nothing.  The human spirit never gives up.

My photo of the day...mama'razzi strikes again!

Music I am listening to today, Lykke Li.

Until next time...

"Human life is not about the perfection, it is about accepting the flawed, misguided parts of ourselves.  We keep trying, we keep loving, we keep believing."

Ho hum, lazy Saturday...

March 26, 2011

My 365...

Hello Saturday :)

I would have probably slept all day if Garrett had not stopped by this morning.  I am so tired!  I must be getting old...no, that can't be it.

I fixed some delicious bran cereal with fresh fruit for breakfast and it looked so yummy!

Blake did not want fruit for breakfast.  So I asked him what he wanted?  "Can you make some fries mom?"  Fries are not for breakfast, I offered to make them for lunch and the bargaining commenced ...

"Okay Blake, then how about a plate of fruit for breakfast, and I will make you some fries in an hour?"

"Aww mom, I don't want fruit.  How about I eat 1 banana, then fries?"

"One banana and a glass of milk, and you have a deal Blake."

"Deal!"

"Stinker!  How did you win?  And why am I in here cutting potatoes now?"

"Because you love me mom."  :)

And what did Casey have for breakfast you ask?  A bowl of ice cream and some chicken nuggets.  Ugh!  Silly boys are going to drive mama crazy.  In a good way.

Now off to continue my lazy Saturday.  Have a good one!

Music I am listening to today....no music, it is movie day!

Until next time...
