My 365...
Most things in life come with instruction manuals. Playgrounds, skateboards, scooters, and roller blades. Sons however do not...especially active, adventurous 11 year old boys.
My Blake has no fear. I love watching him run and play and act like a super hero.
He is you know...a super hero.
He took quite the fall the other day riding his scooter, and managed to give himself a mild concussion and one heck of a headache. You see, Blake truly believes he is indestructible. "I don't need a stinking helmet mom!" But like I always tell him, what goes up...must come down. You need to protect your head at all times. "After all son, how are you going to rule the world someday with a broken head?
He will you know...rule the world someday. :)
Until then, I will do all I can to keep him safe...and protect that brilliant head of his.

We took a nice little bike ride to a local park this evening. It was so cold today, but it felt wonderful.
Hanging ten the "longboard" way. With a helmet on!

Blake refers to this as "getting his parkour on."
I like to refer to it as contributing to the gray that is my hair!
Hmmm...I wonder if I can enforce the helmet rule with playground equipment?
