Goodbye October!

Goodbye October! I just have two more months of my first 365 left. A photo a day for 365 days, and I have not missed one day!

Hello November.  :)

Candy!

Not bad for just over an hour of Trick-O-Treating.

 Blake's pile of candy.

Case's pile, a little more oganized.  lol :)

They had fun!

Happy Halloween!

The boys created their own costumes again this year. Nothing cool enough in the stores for them to buy.

Blake is a "gangsta", and Case is a Chernobyl Stalker!  They look very cool.  :)

My days of cute little pumpkins, puppies and firemen are over.  lol   Have a safe night everyone!

"Oh boy oh boy oh boy, is that sausage that I smell?  Dozer, mama has sausage!"

"Dude, Supra, you need to chill!  Mama will not toss that sausage until you calm down.  Trust me, I know these things!"

"Now hit the floor and give her "puppy dog" eyes.  That gets her every time."

My 365...

Goodbye October?  Really?  Already?  I thought I just said hello to you, and here you are leaving me.  Oh well, such is life in the fast lane yes?  I would say that I will miss you, but October...you have been a bear and I shall bid you a fond adieu.  In other words...don't let the door hit you on the way out!  :)

This has been a most difficult month.  Everything seemed to be magnified in difficulty and drama, especially towards the end of the month.  A few people in my life seem to have fallen completely off the deep end and tried to take us with them.  But no worries, this mama holds steadfast to the safety line.  Don't worry kids, mom will save you!  Oh how I wish that was true.  I have had to learn, and accept, that this mama can't fix everything.

I shot this photo this morning, and those brown withered leafs in the center of all that colorful glory is how I feel at the end of this month.  Absolutely withered!

At least not all the leaves have withered and turned brown.  Most of the tree is still brilliant and beautiful!

There is even some blue sky breaking through they gray cloudy skies.  It has been raining most of the night and morning.  I was worried about the weather being horrible for Trick-o-Treating tonight, but it seems it may be clearing.  The boys will be happy about that.

I am off to make my lesson plan for next week.  Welcome to November, and I just have one request.  Please be gentle!  And dear God, I love You with all my heart, and I know You love me, let this month bring with it warmth, happiness, tradition and family.

Until next time...

My 365...

Having some fun with my new camera...and Blake.  I think he would be a great hurdle jumper.  He can really get some serious air, and jeans and socks no less!  Oye, those socks are ruined!  :)

I so love my little boy.  :)  I got some great shots of Casey too, but he said I am not permitted to post them because he was jumping around the back yard in his pj's.  *gasp* a girl might see them!  lol :)

But he did take some amazing pictures with my camera.  I posted them on his blog The Home School Crew.  He takes the most amazing photos!

Until next time...

My 365...

Happy Friday!  Hard to believe we are just two days from the end of October.  I hope this does not mean the holiday season will fly by.  I would prefer a nice enjoyable s l o w pace please.  I will definitely be decorating early so we can enjoy the holidays for as long as possible.

I received my new camera today, and I am so excited to start using it!  Of course I have to charge the battery first, so I have to wait a few hours.  It is a very cool little camera with many great features.  It shoot stills and HD video as well, perfect for keeping memories.   I think for me the best feature will be the 12 frames per second, and motion/blur adjustment.  For as fast as Miss Lilly moves, I need all the help I can get!

Have a safe and happy weekend world!

Until next time...

Supra is still visiting, and this evening Garrett left for a bit to run an errand.  When Garrett was several blocks from home, Supra suddenly perked up and perched in the window at full attention.  He completely recognized the sound of Garrett's truck and got so excited!

I snapped these pictures using my Blackberry, so not the best quality photos.  Supra is so adorable!

My 365...

Happy Chocolate Day!  Of all the reasons to celebrate a holiday, chocolate has got to be one of the best!

My Giving tree is looking particularly beautiful today.  I had to take a few more daily photos of her.  I love this tree so much and this may sound crazy, but she cheers me up.  :)

My number one son has been going through some changes in his life, and it has been taking a serious physical, emotional and mental toll on him.  He is such an amazing person, and does not deserve this sadness and drama  right now.  He works hard, he is always giving and loving, he deserves so much better.  As a mom I keep reaching for that elusive magic wand of healing, but in the last 24 years of mother hood, I have yet been able to get my hands on it.

All I can do is sit back and let him work through it.  Be there with a hug and a smile and let him know I love him, we all do.  Definitely the hardest part of being a mom is not being able to fix all the problems my children face.  Of course I know better, even if I could fix them, it is not my job to do so.  They have to be able to solve their own problems and go forward.  With my number one son, I have no doubts that he can.

I did order myself a new camera that will be delivered tomorrow.  I love the camera I have, but want something with more features for zooming and lighting.  I ordered the Pentax X90.  It is 12.1 mp and 26 x zoom.  It also takes HD video, and has shake reduction technology.  Not an expensive camera, with great features for the price.  I can't wait to play with it!

Until next time...
