Grandson Cooper turned 2.

Son Brandon and Amber got married.

Garrett started at Boise State University.

Blake got to talk to his big sis Meagan.

Casey is feeling great about life, and got his braces.

My 365...

I woke up this morning feeling genuinely happy.  Really, truly, 100 percent grade A content.  Why?  Because I know, deep down in my core, that every day is a gift.

Sure, there are many stresses in my life right now.  If I had to sit down and write the good things on the right side of a page, not-so-good things on the left side of the page, I would probably need two pages of "left" sides.  However, that does not mean that my day has to be bad.  Quite the contrary, that gives me more incentive to make darn sure this day is fabulous.  One can not conquer woes, with woe in the heart and spirit.  Not possible.

Today truly is a gift, and one that I shall celebrate with a huge smile on my face and boat loads of optimism in my spirit.  This way only good will come my way.

New Tea Alert!  Kori brought me some Dragon Eye, Oolong Tea, and it was delish!  I do not like tea bags at all.  They are usually a small bag of tea dust, and other dregs that are scooped out of the bottom of the tea barrel.  Mesh tea bags, where you can see the contents, I don't mind.  These were mesh bags, and you could see the nicely rolled tea leaves and other ingredients.  Very nice, smooth citrus after taste as well.  I really like it.

And the answer is....iJustine!  I have to agree, she is one pretty rad mamma-jamma.

Blake and I started our exercise program today.  I have to tell you, he is one tough trainer!  "Come on mom, keep going!"

Casey came out of his room, sat on the stairs, and proceeded to laugh hysterically at us.  Gee son, thanks for the encouragement.  :)

I am also starting a nutritional plan for us.  Healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner.  And we need to adopt a better sleeping/eating schedule around here as well.  We are going to be ready to rock Spring, my Blakey, Casey and I!

My 365...

Happy Tuesday!  The sun is shining bright today, and we were off to a great start.  A little later than I had planned, but that is one of the perks of home schooling.  :)

Garrett and Kori had a long night last night.  Out of the clear blue sky, Garrett's right hand swelled up like a balloon.  It was very painful too, but he had no clue what could have possibly happened to it. Five hours in the ER later, the Doctor said, "I really have no clue what is wrong with your hand?"  Really doctor?  They did do x-rays, and did a blood panel, but nothing conclusive.  How frustrating!  The nurse wrapped it up nice and tight, and gave him a solid brace to wear while it heals.  It may be a broken blood vessel...who knows.  You would think that in 2013, a fully equipped hospital would know what the problem is?

Poor Garrett, he has not had a good year thus far. I told Kori it was time to trade him in for a new model.  LOL, just kidding of course.  Garrett is awesome...even though his body breaks in mysterious ways from time to time.  My poor baby.

Happy Monday planet!

Not everything in life is up for negotiation, however, the boys think that "everything" should be.  No my darlings...not everything.  If you eat your veggies, you can have desert.  Okay.  If you clean your room, you can go out this weekend.  Maybe.  If you clean up the dog poop....well, if you clean up the dog poop, I will let you keep your dog.  Yes, that is fair.

However....

"If you buy me a hamster, I will do my school work."

"No dear. You WILL do your school work, because doing so facilitates learning.  You will become a responsible, and well educated adult, which is far more valuable and important than being a hamster owner."

"And for the millionth time...no rodents in my house!"

School is not open for negotiation.  Not ever.  School is very important, you will participate, and you will complete your assignments.  You will thank me later for being so strict about it.

"Mom, you are so mean!"

"Well honey, if insisting that education is number one on the list of priorities indicates my level of mean?  Then yes, I am the meanest mama you will ever meet."

There are children on this planet who do not have access to education.  Education is a privilege.  Education is a beautiful thing.  Education can not be taken for granted.  This is a lesson they are still learning.  They will get there.


Garrett and Kori purchased my Scentsy burner for Mother's Day over two years ago.  The light bulb has burned out, and I had not had the opportunity to replace it.  They were shopping over the weekend, and found some pumpkin burners on sale for just under $3 and bought one for me.  Sure it is a pumpkin, but $3 is an awesome price!  I love my pumpkin burner.

My 365...

There was a huge ball of fire in the sky today.  It cast warmth and light all over the land, and painted the sky a lovely shade of blue.  So what the heck was it you ask?  I think they call it the sun?  Had not seen it in so long, I had forgotten how amazing it is.  Thank you for coming to visit today sun...you burning hunk of awesome goodness, we have missed you.

The sun also cheered me up, and provided some much needed inspiration.  So I cleaned.  Re-arranged my office area, discarded the junk mail, started gathering my tax information and cleaned as much of the house that I could get to today.  No, I did not get to hit the roads on my bike and enjoy a much needed biking adventure, it is still entirely too cold for that.  Bummer.

Blake was walking on cloud 9 today.  He got to call his one and only big sister last night, and enjoyed a nice long phone conversation with her.  He has really missed his big sis.  "Thank you Meagan."  :)

My 365...

Things thawed a bit in our frozen city today.  Now rather than hard slippery ice, everything is covered in a nice slushy mess.  We are an entire 2° above freezing.  Wow, finally a balmy day.

I love winter, but I found myself wishing for Spring today.  Being stuck inside for an entire month because it is too cold to go outside, makes it challenging to keep up a photo a day without getting really bored.  However, here are today's photos.
