My 365...
Blake was ranting about something while I was working, and I could not understand a word he was saying.
"Hold on son, I am in the middle of something."
"NO holding on mother! This is NOT a telephone conversation, or a Youtube video you can place on hold. This is a "real life" conversation. WAY more important. No hold on!"
I know Blake means business when he calls me "mother", so I had better pay attention to the pearls of wisdom he is about to bestow to the cosmos...and to me.
I stop everything I am doing, and provide my undivided attention. Anticipation for what is to follow is intense.
"Yes dear?"
.
.
*long dramatic pause*
.
.
"Can we have cheese burgers for dinner tonight?"
"Really? Is that all you have? Cheeseburgers?"
"Okay mom, here is one for you. If you only had a thousand words to live, what would you do?"
"I would write everything down, stop talking, text messages, instant messages. What about you Blake?"
"I would learn sign language."
Good answer son. :)
Stinker!
"Back to work for me...and NO cheeseburgers for you. Friday is junk food day not Wednesday. As you were..."
"But...."
"Blake, that leaves you 999 words...and counting..."
*giggle*
I did receive a very special phone call today. It was my precious grandson Cooper calling to say hello to grandma. <3 :)
My photos of the day...
Good morning sunshine. :)
"Nice hat you have there."
"Hook-em"
A tad bit of snow on the fence line.
" $15.00 "
"Fifteen what son?"
"Dollars you owe me....modeling fee ya know."
Music I am listening to today...The Fray
Random Link of the Day...This tugboat is definitely a "she." :)
Until next time..."Move on, it's just a chapter in the past. But don't close the book...just turn the page."
Peace.

My 365...
Cheerio!
More like Cheerios, my new breakfast of choice. How strange is that? I have never been anything other than a "Bran" cereal person. I woke this morning to discover that the Bran box was empty...thank you Casey...but there were plenty of Cheerios. Not bad actually. A bowl of Cheerios with a sliced banana and a warm cup of breakfast blend tea...delightful. Heart Healthy too I hear, which is good for my persnickety old heart.
How strange it is for me to say "persnickety old heart" when I am only 29? Well, I have been 29 for 21 years now, but who's counting? Not I. *grin*
I was filling out a web form this morning, and it came to age. Usually the categories list the ages with a "50 - 64" thrown in there, and although I LOVE being 50, I hate being thrust into the "almost retirement age" category of anything. I am not ever going to retire! "Take that back!"
In this particular web form, the categories listed as a gentle "46 - 54"....awwww thank you. Much better to be in the "46 - 54" age group since I do have the youthful spirit of a "29 and holding" year old. Rawrrr.....
They are only numbers.
Granted, I am enjoying safe breakfast choices, do not smoke or drink (a little wine once or twice a month does not constitute as "drinking" especially since the wine I do drink once or twice a month is "light" wine), but I have become my mother in the medication department.
I used to tease her mercilessly that she had become a "walking pharmacy" thanks to her battle with the beast that is RA. Now it is I fighting that battle with just as many if not more medications, and a weekly injection thrown in for good measure. I even have one of those nifty weekly "Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun"...medication boxes. Ahhh...it is the little things that bring such joy. :)
Oh dear God, Veronica is talking to herself?
No silly...I was talking to my mom. She is heaven now, but she still listens to everything I have to say.
So there you have it, the random rantings of a woman in the gentle "46 - 54!"
Mother to many, grandmother to one.
Yes, I used to wear skinny jeans...and cowboy boots too! Sure, I had to lay flat on the bed to put them on, and zip them up using a coat hanger...but they looked fabulous! Can I get an "Amen Sistah!" :)
My photos of the day...
A single bloom coming out of the fallen leaves...
The crocuses are blooming. Or would that be "croci?"
Still some snow in the hills.
Cinnamon candy.
Music I am listening to today...Brooke Fraser
Random Link of the Day...Temporal Distortion
Until next time..."There is no room in my heart for hate. If that means there is no room in my heart for you...I am sorry."
Peace.

"I have taken over the battle for us mom. And guess what? I am winning!"
"I have even started to make those silly faces every time I take my meds in the morning. I call it the 'silly mom' face. When I catch myself doing it, it makes me smile remembering you doing the same thing."
"I saw a quote today that reminded me of you mom. It read...."
Dear Mom, Yes I am wearing skinny jeans. If I can't get them off...neither can the rapist!
Love, Your Daughter
"How brilliant is that? I know you hated my tight jeans, but now you know...they kept me safe."
...lol
"I miss you mom."
"Thanks for making me brave."

My 365...
"Just who do you think you are? This is MY house! Take that...and that...you can not escape me!"
That my friends is what I woke to on this lovely Monday morn. Blake on a mission. A mission against tree ants.
We have spotted a few big black tree ants in the second bedroom upstairs that seem to be crawling in through the window. I have never seen any in my room, but this morning Blake was sitting at his computer on the desk and spotted one crawling across the wall. You would have thought it was a 100 pound black widow spider. Blake was furious!
He spent the rest of the morning systematically hunting them down and sending them to a watery grave with a single flush.
Oh Blake....never a dull moment. I spy a science lesson in here somewhere. :)
Hope your Monday is going well interwebs. And "insect" free too.
My photos of the day....
"Inspector Blake at your service."
"What?" "Bugs are cool and all, but not in my house!"

Family Dinner
I almost forgot to post about Sunday family dinner!
I made some chilli-cheese enchiladas for my boys. :)
No, of course we did not have wine with enchiladas...eewwww. Jack brought this bottle home tonight, and I thought the label was pretty funny.
Blake LOVES fresh jalapeño.
*crunch*
So does Garrett. However, never a good ideal to get too close to the produce when it is being chopped....
...a squirt of fresh jalapeño juice to the eye does not feel very good at all! Ouch!
My silly boys...gotta love em. <3
We missed you Brandon and Cooper!!
Life is good.
Have a great Monday everyone.

My 365...
Hello my internet friends. I know I have never met you, but that does not mean you are any less than a real part of my life. Many of the people in my life today, I met online. Either through social networks, parenting forums, professional forums, gaming forums, creative forums. Over 75% of my professional client base I deal with online or by phone only, and we have never met in person. All of these people are real to me, and I care very much about every single one of them.
I have had the pleasure of meeting several "In real life", and it was as if we had known each other forever. And why is that? Because we have. In person, online, on the phone, it is all "human" interaction and that makes it very real. Anyone who says it is anything less has no clue what they are talking about. To them I say....try it. I double-dawg dare you to try it and experience it for yourself and not call it "real."
Blake and I were watching the update video posted by Charles Trippy yesterday regarding his recent health crisis, and we wanted to cry. I felt as if one of my own children had just been given some life changing news and I could not be there to comfort him. My heart was breaking for him. When I broke the news to Casey, who has been watching Charles Trippy for three plus years, he was sincerely devastated for him.
Would it have made a difference if Blake had actually met him on Thursday? Not at all. He is still the wonderful Charles Trippy who is a great role model for young people.
The point of this rant you ask?
Any encounter we experience that involves another human being, spirit, soul on this planet is real no matter how that encounter was realized. Standing before me shaking my hand, greeting me with a hug...spending three hours together in a "virtual" classroom, teleconference or even a gaming marathon, to talking on the phone about everything that matters in life, or taking time out of every single day to watch a YouTuber vlog about their life...is real. It is an open door into someone else's life, and they are welcoming you in to be their friend. I accept. :)
You are all very real to me, and I care. Thank you for taking the time to read about my family and I, and to care about us.
To Charles and Alli Trippy, we are sending healing thoughts and prayers to you. Your CTFxC army is behind you 100 percent and it is the power and prayer of all the people who care about you and believe in you that will carry you through the difficult days ahead. We love you. <3
Happy Sunday world. Hope the sun is shinning in your corner of the planet today. :)
My photos of the day...
We have two new colors in the yard this morning....
...and they are stunning!
Still a little gloomy outside. Come on sun, we know you are up there.

My 365...
There will be no hiking today. So cold, windy, snowy and rainy outside. Definitely a day for indoor adventure.
Is that a problem for Blake? No. He finds adventure wherever he happens to be.
He is sneaking through the house with his airsoft guns...not loaded of course...protecting mom from monsters, zombies, and the mysterious great white beast otherwise known as Dozer.
He also guards mama's heart...from people who make me sad. So you better beware!
My boys...I love them so much. <3
Happy Saturday. :)

Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!
