Goodbye August!

My 365..

Jack has had this Frank Lloyd Wright print for as long as I can remember. It has faded a bit over the years, but is still really amazing. It now looks great above the fireplace.

One of my favorite Frank Lloyd Write projects is FallingWater.  What a dream it would be to live there!

I was thinking today about life, and how no matter what happens I am able to maintain objectivity and stay happy. How is it that I can do this? I am pretty sure it is because I have the gene for happiness and no matter what life throws at that gene, it helps me remain balanced and content. So thank you God for giving me the happy gene. :)

It has been a great day today, finally the last day of August! School officially starts tomorrow, and we are ready!

Until next time...

Doggy Daily for August 30, 2010

Garrett and Kori surprised us with a visit last night, and they brought Supra and Stella along as well.  We LOVE seeing Supra and Stella!  And it would not be a perfect weekend if I did not get to see my Garrett and Kori.  :)

Stella has grown just a tiny bit, and has turned into a little tornado of fun!

After some serious rough housing with Blake, Stella collapsed on the floor and took a nap.  She is the cutest little pup I have ever seen!

Sweet Dreams Stella Bella!

My 365...

Veronica, Archie and Betty, I love the new postage stamps with my favorite comic book characters.  I asked Jack to bring me some stamps the other day, and when I saw this one there was no way I could use it.

It brings back memories of going with my mom to the beauty salon on the weekends.  While she was getting her hair done, we used to walk next door to the pharmacy and they always had "Archies" comic books.  That feels like 100 years ago.  :)

Hope you are all having a splendid Monday!

Until next time...

My 365...

August is almost over, thank goodness!  That means that Autumn is almost here...my favorite season.  :)

Blake has decided that no one could ever be as good of a friend as Dozer is.  "Mommy, Dozer is my best friend in the world, I love him so much!"  He and Dozer have been particularly inseparable this weekend.  Playing tag in the yard, hide-n-go seek inside, Blake has realized just how awesome, and smart, his Dozer is.

He is very excited about being able to spend every day with Dozer now that he is home schooled as well.  I heard him telling Dozer this morning, "Buddy you don't have to worry about me leaving every day for school because I will be here with you!"  They really are adorable together.

This has been such a great weekend!  We are really looking forward to the coming week.

Have a terrific Monday world.

Until next time...

Big Doggy

..carries a really BIG stick!

Tonight Blake taught Dozer how to play hide n seek. He would say, "Dozer stay!" then run to hide. Dozer would stay, then run to the sound of Blake's voice. It was SO cute! :)

"Guard the north side Dozer!"

Dozer does not realize it, but he is very much participating in Blake's play time.  Note the GI Joe's on the ground next to him.  Blake loves to pretend that Dozer is playing with him.  And Dozer does not mind one bit.  After all, that is what friends are for!

My 365...

Happy Saturday world.  It is so gorgeous here today in my city.  The sky is crystal clear, it is breezy and 73 degrees.  Such a perfect day to enjoy family.

I am relaxing in the living room with Blake.  It is fun watching him save the world with his GI Joe's.

Today would be a perfect day for a walk with the dogs.  I love days like today.  No plans necessary, just relax, have fun and take it one smile at a time.  :)

Hope you Saturday is amazing!

Until next time...

Still Miss Lilly's favorite place to sit...on my desk between me and the keyboard.  It is very difficult to get anything done, but once she settles in to her compact little snuggle bundle...not too bad.  :)

She is still tiny enough to be "Desk Puppy", lol.  With all the Macs on my desk, I should color a little Apple logo on her back and we can call her "i-Lilly!"

My 365...

"It's almost over!" What is almost over you ask? Summertime! And good riddance I say.  Today even feels like Fall at a cool 63 degrees and clear blue skies.  It is a gorgeous day!  :)

It is also grocery shopping day today, but I am not the solo grocery shopper anymore.  Jack loves grocery shopping, so he has taken his duty back now that he is home.  Yay!

It feels so wonderful not doing everything by myself anymore like I have been for the past five plus years.  We are still adjusting to being a family together again, but so far so good.  I do have to remind Jack not to sweat the little things.  He has a tendency to get upset over tiny little bitty things that do not matter.  When I do have to remind him, he smiles and say, "I know."  Jack is very "type A" and I am very "type B", so together hopefully we can create the perfect balance for the boys.

Have a wonderful weekend world!  I know we will.

Until next time...

"Aye aye aye aye!!!  Mama!!  Let me in please it is way too hot our here for precious little bitty me!"
LOL, Miss Lilly is not fond of heat.  Not two seconds after I let her out for her "business", she is barking hysterically at the door to be let in.  I don't blame her, mama does not like it hot either.  :)

Dozer...ready to face the heat!

My 365...

A very hot day in the Valley today, 99 degrees!  A perfect day to stay inside where it is nice and cool.

I keep the thermostat at a chilly 68 degrees.  That keeps the entire house nice and cool.  I am not a summer person, so I will be very happy when the Autumn weather is here.  Not much longer now.

We still have several fires burning across the state.  I pray that all the firemen and firewomen stay safe.  We have been very fortunate so far (knock on wood) no fires in our foothills or the foothills behind Kori and Garrett.  I pray it stays that way.

Casey had his first online class today.  We had some technical difficulties, but fortunately all the sessions are recorded so he can replay them later.  The class was surprisingly small.  I expected there to be a lot more kids.  Blake officially starts on the first and he can not wait!  His teacher called yesterday to introduce herself and I really like her.  She has been teaching with K12 for 9 years now.

I am feeling a bit tired today after a long night of strange dreams.  It has been 14 years since I moved away from Texas, and I have never gone back for a visit.  I realized this morning that I probably never will go back.  There is nothing left in Texas for me to go back to other than my niece Becky and her brothers.  My auntie lives there, but with the right planning I hope to bring her to Idaho for the holidays.  Unfortunately I now have no relationships left with my sisters, and both of my parents are gone.  It is sad really how we have all moved so completely opposite in direction...and that has nothing to do with geography!  Never is a long time, but that is how I feel about restoring any relationship with them.  Sad.  :(

I do have my family though, and we have never been happier.  Jack, the boys and I are very excited about our tomorrows, and really that is all that matters.  We are home.  :)

Until next time...

My 365...

A random daily photo.  Two racks of glass bottles that Jack had.  Not sure what they are for, but they are cute.

Jack is 100 percent moved in now, and the house looks great.  We managed to combine two houses into one, and everything fit just fine.  He and Blake rearranged the kitchen yesterday.  I was a little lost this morning, but I do like the setup much better.  They did a great job.

I am happy to report that it all feels right.  Jack, the boys and I are very happy.  :)

I started training Monday for my new chat support job and I can tell it is going to be very easy.  The instructor is very nice and very funny.  He seems to know the client very well, so I am sure we will be well prepared to start the project.

All is well.

Until next time...

My 365...

"Wake up sleepy head." Blake is so adorable when he sleeps. :)
He does not start school officially until September 1st, so he still gets to enjoy sleeping in.  Casey started yesterday and so far so good.

I spent most of the night trying to figuring out a good scheduling system for the three of us.  I created an iGoogle home page on all three computers with linked calenders so I can keep us coordinated with school and later with extra curricular activities.  This is going to be a lot of work, but now that Jack is here to help me I know we can do it.  We are so excited about everything going on!

Today Blake is helping daddy reorganize the kitchen and his room.  They are a great team.

Life is awesome right now!  :)

Until next time...
