My 365...
Tomorrow is the first day of school! I am sad and excited all at the same time. I have loved having Blake home school for the past three years. It has been probably the most difficult experience of my life, but definitely the most rewarding. IDVA is an awesome organization, and they have gone above and beyond to help us make home schooling a success, it is just not for Blake. He needs much more.
I have a good feeling about the public school Blake will be attending this year. From what I have heard, it is a great school, and the staff and teachers are top notch. Blake and I were able to see his classroom this afternoon, and meet his teacher. His teacher was very nice, and he made Blake feel welcomed and immediately at ease. Yay! I know Blake will do great.
This is going to be an amazing year! :)
Hope you are having a fabulous Monday planet! And best wishes for an awesome week ahead.
And don't worry planet, I did not make Blake keep my crayola Minecraft artwork on his binder. He went with Skateboard logos instead, and hung the Minecraft art on his wall. :)
Peace.

Blake and I rode our bikes to his school this afternoon to meet his teacher. Can you spot two things that are wrong in this picture?
1. "Blake, where is your helmet?" Ugh, getting this boy to wear a helmet is a daily battle. I told him this afternoon I would get him a Daft Punk helmet. Maybe that will be cool enough for him. *rolling eyes*
2. There is a stowaway on my bike.
"Stowaway? Where?"And don't worry planet, I did not make Blake keep my crayola Minecraft artwork on his binder. He went with Skateboard logos instead, and hung the Minecraft art on his wall. :)

My 365...
Back to school shopping 'almost' done. The only two things I am missing are a ruler and a protractor. Walmart did not have any last night. WHAT? I kid you not. A ruler and a protractor. I mean really Walmart, how can you not carry two basic back-to-school items? I did have fun shopping with Garrett and Blake though. We get to the check-out and I notice a box of markers, a box of crayons. "Blake? Markers and crayons honey?" I don't think you will be needing those for the 6th grade...lol He has been out of public school entirely too long. :)
Speaking of Blake...he always says the funniest things. I asked him to do something this morning, and I always get the same response. "Mom, it is too hard, or mom it is too heavy...can you help me?" This morning I looked at him and said..."Dude! I am a 52 year old grandmother, and you are telling ME that something is too heavy or too hard? You are a 12 year old boy, you can do anything!"
His response...
"Mom, you know you are the strongest, meanest, scariest, bad a** in this house. You can out-lift, out-run, out-rawrrrrr any one of us dudes. You are da boss!"
"Well, isn't that sweet of your to say. But scariest?""
"Well mom, lets just say we just don't ever want to be on your bad side."
LOL....okay? "Now come here and GIVE YOUR MOM A HUG!....Rawrrrrrrrrrr!" (just keeeding) :)
Happy Sunday planet! Have an awesome Monday, and a great week ahead. Happy "Back to School!"
Rocking with uncle Garrett.
Stressing uncle Casey out...lol I love watching him squirm when we put a baby in his arms.
My precious Penny!
My darling Cooper, being silly for the camera.
Helping uncle Garrett feed the fish. He loves that!
My beautiful daughter-in-law Amber, with her little Penny. *love*
Peace.

My 365...
Hello Saturday!
And now...the news from yesterday. Our home sits right smack dab in the middle of three different school boundaries. When I decided to let Blake go back to public school, there was only ONE school that I would even consider, so it is there where I registered him. What I did not know at the time, was that even with open boundary registration, you have to apply and be accepted to an out of boundary school. Oops.
When the school called to tell me this, I was so worried that Blake would not be accepted because the classes were already full. I went ahead and applied, then said a lot of prayers. I got the call yesterday morning first thing that he was accepted. YAY!!!! We are so happy about that. Thank you God!
In other good news from yesterday...Garrett is all registered and ready to go for fall semester at BSU. Kori is as well, and this is her last semester!! She was also accepted for an internship with the juvenile court system, and got a part time job with her gym as well. Everything that they wanted...happened. I love good news. :)
For Amber and Brandon, the good news is that Brandon has secured a carpool on his 10 hour shift days. Now Amber can stay at home with the children, and they can try to have a normal schedule. Having to be in Boise until 5:00am three days a week was so hard on Amber and the children. Having to work that late is hard on Brandon, but at least now he can relax a bit knowing that his little family is resting comfortably at home. The good news for me is that I still get to enjoy Amber and the children on Fridays and Sundays, which are Brandon's 5 hour shift days. I am so happy about that! I love being with Amber and the children. They are my joys. :)
So this leaves my Casey. He is done with high school, and is in that in-between space trying to decide what to do next. His dream is military service, but there are some roadblocks with that path due to Casey's medical history. His big brother Garrett and I are encouraging him to go to college, which he is starting to lean towards. He is also really desperate to start working, but the jobs in Boise are very hard to come by. I am hoping that once all the college students get back to school next week, there will be more jobs available. Either way, he is going to take the next few months to get a plan in place. Which is probably the right plan because he still needs to get through his major jaw surgery. I am so proud of my Casey. Despite all his medical issues, he is one of the strongest young men I know. No matter which path he chooses, he will be amazing. "I love you Casey!"
I love all of my babies. They are my "Fabulous Six...plus two!" My four sons, Garrett, Brandon, Casey and Blake, and of course my girls...Kori and Amber, and the babies...Cooper and Penny...I adore them, and am so thankful to have them in my life. *love*
Hope your weekend has been amazing thus far! Our plan for the evening is back-to-school shopping. I wanted to wait until really...really...late so that I don't have to deal with the crowds. Garrett has offered to take Blake and I to Walmart after midnight. I love those midnight Walmart runs with my boys, we have so much fun.
Peace.

Junk food! Blake decided on Jack-in-the-Box for dinner, so big brother Garrett was awesome, and brought him some.
Mama says "yuck!", however Blake says "yummmmmm!"
I really, REALLY hate fast food. However, if you twist my arm...I could eat this...

"Hey mama?"
"Yes Miss Lilly?"
"Just where do I fit into that "Fabulous 6 + 2" of yours?
"Oh sorry Miss Lilly, I will change that to "Fabulous 6 + 2 + 5", is that better?"
"FIVE? Why five?"
"Dozer, Miss Lilly, Ducati, Supra and Stella, that is 5"
"Pffft....whatever!"
Oh Miss Lilly...there is just no pleasing a diva. :)

My 365...
Today was an awesome day. I will have to tell you all about it tomorrow, because my grandchildren are here this evening, and they get all grandma's attention. Why? Because they are delightful little human beings, as is their mommy. They make my heart so happy.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Precious Penny is now 7 week old, and her weight today is 11 pounds 9 ounces. Mommy has done an amazing job nourishing and nurturing her Penny. Way to go mommy.
So precious! And she has the sweetest little smile. :)
Peace.

My 365...
And it is done...Blake is officially a student of the Boise Independent School District. No more home schooling for this young man. "Wahhhhh....." I am not really crying, I am actually quite happy for Blake because he is beyond excited to be in public school.
I really love this school too. They are attached to a community center, so the children can hang out before school starts at 9:15am, and after school as well, all for free. They are also served a free breakfast and free lunch. That is for ALL students. How cool is that?
It looks like he might be getting a male teacher too. I really hope so. Blake needs an older positive male role model in his life.
The school is less than a mile from home, so I rode my bike there and Blake skateboarded. It was a really easy, smooth ride too. The only problem with this mode of transportation is getting Blake to wear his helmet. However, that is one argument that this mama will NEVER lose! If you are riding wheels, you will be wearing a helmet. Period...end of statement...not open for negotiation! Got it, get it, good.
I told Blake that on the days that it is snowing or icy, and he can't ride, maybe Dozer and I can walk with him to school. His answer..."No way mom! That is so uncool." *sniff* I guess it is time to let go isn't it? I have to stop being such an over-protective silly mama. I am trying planet...I am really, really trying!
Wow, only 11:00AM...and we have gotten so much done. Have a great day everyone. :)
Officially a public school student.
Where is his helmet? On the back of my bike of course. He had to switch to his hat as soon as we got to school. He could not walk into school wearing a helmet. *rolling eyes* So stubborn!
Peace.
