My 365...
Today is "It's okay to be lazy," day. After this past week, we have all earned it. Although Blake complains that I do not know how to be completely lazy. I started the day in my usual "tornado" fashion. Cleaning, cleaning, rearranging, and more cleaning. Once all of that was done, then we could be lazy. The house is nice and clean, so mama is happy. :)
It is a gorgeous day today, but Blake's bike has a flat tire, so biking was out of the question. :*( Daddy said he would fix it later so that Blake and I can adventure tomorrow. It is supposed to be another beautiful day.
So today it is video games, reading, and movies...tomorrow it will be biking, hiking and fresh air. I can not think of a better way to spend the weekend.
Hope your Saturday is going great planet!
"I promise we can adventure tomorrow mama."
Peace.

My 365...
Happy Saturday planet!
I am getting there! And where is "there" you might be asking? There is that quiet place mommies go to exhale and enjoy part 2 of their lives. I won't call it empty nest because I know my nest will never truly be empty. I know this because I have raised four amazing sons who love me, and my family is growing. I know in my heart that while they are out and about living this thing called life, they do take a second or two out of their day and think fondly of dear old mom. That is all I need. It feels great knowing that the love I have given to them, comes back to me ten-fold. That completes me, and nothing else matters.
Is that normal? Is that the way moms are supposed to feel? Is that the way life is written in the book of motherhood? I don't know, and even more importantly, I don't care. You see there is one thing I know about myself with absolutely certainty...I have never consulted ANY book on how I am supposed to live my life. How I am supposed to "mother." I have always approached my life as a mom, relying completely upon instinct. I have always done what felt right to me, and always acted out of love and nothing more. There are no regrets.
Sure, everyone has a laundry list of things they felt could have gone better in life. However, when I review my laundry list of moments, when life seemingly did not fall into place, nothing I could have said or done would have made a difference. The people who are no longer in my life, chose not to be for whatever reason they need to justify...and I have no control over that. So why worry? Their life, their choice, and I feel no responsibility for their choices either way. It is not a burden I carry, for I know I did my best, and that is a good feeling. People who have darkness in their spirit, people who can not let go of the past, people who demand perfection out of everyone in their lives and will accept nothing less, can deal with that toxicity on their own time. I don't have to, so why let it get me down? I let go of that darkness a long, long, long time ago. My heart is healed, and my life is toxic free.
I am home alone today, and it feels good. It does not feel sad or lonely because I know in life I will never EVER truly be alone...and that makes me happy. I can stay in bed all day and read a good book. Not worry about anyone or anything because I know life is going along smoothly as it should be. I love with the purest of intentions, and that is the love I receive in return.
Today would have been a perfect day for a bike ride, but since I am home alone, I decided to let it be Enbrel injection day. I have not had my injection for a few weeks because I have not been feeling 100 percent...yeah, that is a great excuse...the damn thing hurts! lol But today I mustered up the courage and gave myself the shot. Now I have an excuse to cuddle up under the blankets with Miss Lilly, and read a book, or better yet, watch season one of Sherlock. My daughter-in-law tells me it is an awesome show, and Amber knows awesome, so that is probably what I will be doing all day. PS...Amber, your chicken from last night made for some delicious left-overs. Thank you honey!
Hope the sun is shining in your world today planet. It sure is shining here. :)
Peace.

My 365...
Blake and I woke up at 6:00am so we could leave the house by 6:30am and ride our bikes down to the park to watch the hot air balloons launch for the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. It was still dark outside, but the air was so cool and crisp. A preview of Autumn...and Autumn is my favorite season.
This year we decided to ride to the rim overlooking the park so that I could get a shot of the sunrise over the mountains. And mother nature did not disappoint. It was stunning!
When they finally filled the canopies of all the balloons, they stayed tethered to the ground. Apparently the conditions were not right for a launch, but all the balloons did inflate, and it was beautiful.
We decided to ride down to the park, and discovered that the pilots were letting everyone take a quick ride in the balloons. Just up, and down, but OMG Blake was so excited! He got his first experience "almost" riding in a balloon. The pilots and their crews were so nice.
After that fun experience, we rode our bike to MacDonald's for some sausage/egg biscuits, hash browns, and mango/pineapple smoothies.
It was a PERFECT day with my youngest son. Definitely an unforgettable memory. This evening I will be enjoying the company of my delightful daughter in law Amber, and my precious grandchildren Cooper and Penny.
Happy Sunday planet. Have an awesome Labor Day Monday, and a great week ahead. :)
Blake enjoying his first balloon ride.
Big brother Garrett bought Blake a penny board. He was so excited to try it out this morning, so we brought it on the back of my bike so he could ride at the park.
Total ride 8.40 miles.
Peace.

My 365...
Tomorrow is the first day of school! I am sad and excited all at the same time. I have loved having Blake home school for the past three years. It has been probably the most difficult experience of my life, but definitely the most rewarding. IDVA is an awesome organization, and they have gone above and beyond to help us make home schooling a success, it is just not for Blake. He needs much more.
I have a good feeling about the public school Blake will be attending this year. From what I have heard, it is a great school, and the staff and teachers are top notch. Blake and I were able to see his classroom this afternoon, and meet his teacher. His teacher was very nice, and he made Blake feel welcomed and immediately at ease. Yay! I know Blake will do great.
This is going to be an amazing year! :)
Hope you are having a fabulous Monday planet! And best wishes for an awesome week ahead.
And don't worry planet, I did not make Blake keep my crayola Minecraft artwork on his binder. He went with Skateboard logos instead, and hung the Minecraft art on his wall. :)
Peace.

Blake and I rode our bikes to his school this afternoon to meet his teacher. Can you spot two things that are wrong in this picture?
1. "Blake, where is your helmet?" Ugh, getting this boy to wear a helmet is a daily battle. I told him this afternoon I would get him a Daft Punk helmet. Maybe that will be cool enough for him. *rolling eyes*
2. There is a stowaway on my bike.
"Stowaway? Where?"And don't worry planet, I did not make Blake keep my crayola Minecraft artwork on his binder. He went with Skateboard logos instead, and hung the Minecraft art on his wall. :)

My 365...
I am so lonely!!! And so it begins. Empty nest. :*(
Blake will be starting school in the fall in a regular public school. He is done with the "Home Schooling" experience, and is ready for sports, fun and regular stuff. I am really excited about it, but a little sad too. A few days ago, he decided that he wanted to walk to the park down the street all alone. I know, he is going to be 12 in a few days, but I don't approve of him going ANYWHERE alone! I have to be realistic too. There are no boys his age in our neighborhood. There are a few girls, but they annoy the heck out of Blake.
So I let him go yesterday. I made him take a cell phone with him, and told him he had to be home before dinner. It just so happened that there is a supervised summer day camp at this park for children his age, and he met many new friends that he will be going to school with next year. YAY!
Bright an early this morning, he was ready to go meet his friends at the park again today. He has been gone practically ALL day, having a blast with his new buddies. What is really cool is that every day the city provides free lunches for all the children in the park as part of their free school lunch program. So not only does he get to have a fun day with his new friends, but he gets a free lunch as well. Win...win.
I am so proud of Blake. He is such a cool, outgoing young man, and makes friends so easily. This is going to be a great end to his summer, and a great start to his new school adventures.
Mama is a little lonely...but life is really good for Blake and that is ALL that matters to me. :)
Peace.
