My 365...
Happy Hump-Day Planet!
Today was a beautiful day. Blake, Dozer and I took a walk to the park, and enjoyed the awesome that is the Northwest.
We love you Idaho. :)
Also found out today that my grandson Cooper will be spending a day with me next week. YAY!!! I love my little Coopey, and enjoy his spirit so much. Blake and I are going to really enjoy our Coopey time.
I am also very excited about the baby on the way. That sweet baby will be here before we know it. I can't wait to sit and rock another precious baby...I could do that for hours. I also can't wait to watch Cooper with the baby. I know he is going the be an amazing big brother!
I feel so very blessed to be a part of my grand children's lives. Thank you Amber and Brandon. I love you. <3
Hope your day was awesome!
Still some snow in the mountains.
Beautiful Idaho skies.
Stopped to say hi to Princess Yoshi. <3
Peace.

My 365...
The house was way too quiet last night. Princess Yoshi was on her hamster wheel every night, and she made a heck of a racket running round and round and round. It drove me crazy at first, but we soon got used to it. Now that she is gone, it is entirely too quiet at night. We miss the sounds of her spinning wheel.
It seems strange that we are this upset over a little bitty hamster, but we are. Blake and I played with her daily, so today felt like something was missing. Sure, we could adopt another hamster, but neither of us wants to. Princess Yoshi was special, and she can not be replaced. I put her cage and all the hamster supplies away in the garage.
Blake and Garrett worked so hard to try to revive her, and I really thought it might work there for a bit. I still wish I knew what happened? Poor little bug, I hope she did not suffer. I am glad I took time to do a "Yoshi Cam" daily of her. We will always have those fun pictures to look back on and enjoy. :)
Blake and I were very touched by all the sweet messages and emails we received from family, friends and strangers. They told us that seeing Princess Yoshi's daily pic always brightened their day. That made Blake and I very happy to hear. Thank you all. <3
Happy Tuesday planet. Hope your day was a good one.
Tonight I was craving banana bread, but we did not have any bananas on hand. We did have a bag of strawberries though. So I followed the recipe for the banana bread and substituted some nice sweet strawberries.
I present...strawberry bread. Yes, that is a pat of Grade-A pure butter on top. Don't judge me...lol
Peace.

Blake saying hello to Princess Yoshi. :)
Still feeling a wee bit sad.
Miss Lilly cheered him up though. She is good at that. Tonight I was craving banana bread, but we did not have any bananas on hand. We did have a bag of strawberries though. So I followed the recipe for the banana bread and substituted some nice sweet strawberries.

March 25, 2013, Good-Bye Princess Yoshi Bug. :*(
My 365...
What a day we have had. It started out normal. It is day one of Spring Break for the boys, so Casey was out the door early to go skating. Blake and I went outside to take our daily photos. That did not last long though because it is freezing outside!
We came inside to play with Princess Yoshi, and take our daily "Yoshi Cam" photo. Blake went over to her cage, and she would not come to the door to greet us like she always did. He brought her cage over to me, and I reached in to pick her up and she was ice cold. :*( I took her out of her cage, and she was barely moving at all. We called Garrett over, and he tried to revive her for several minutes, but we feared it was just too late.
Blake took her in his hands and held her for a while. His hands are always so warm. She started moving a little more. Kori heated a towel and Garrett wrapped her up and started to try to revive her again. Then nothing. I told Blake she was gone. We needed to make her a soft little bed in a box and say good bye to her.
"Let me just hold her for a little while mom?" There was no way he was ready to give up on her.
So we wrapped her in a little towel, and Blake came up to my room to sit with her. She was wrapped in two towels by this time. After about 30 minutes, he felt her move. We peeled back the towel to see her looking back at us! Still moving really slowly, but she was breathing. We think the cage may have gotten too cold last night, and she may have gone into hibernation mode.
We were watching her closely and Blake was keeping her warm. She was still breathing and moving a little and things started looking up. It is impossible to know how old she was. She was fine last night, so finding her this way today was a surprise. We have not moved her cage, so the temperature has not changed. It has been really cold at night, but the house is warm where we keep her.
We really hoped she would pull through, but two and a half hours after we discovered her lifeless in her cage, she died. Blake's heart is broken. Blake and I had a good cry, and we buried her in a little patch of flowers under the tree in the front yard. Garrett painted a little headstone for her.
I never wanted a hamster. I fought getting one for years, but Blake finally convinced me to let him adopt one. I have to say, I am so glad he did. I loved that little hamster bug. She was so sweet, playful, funny and just downright adorable. We are going to miss her. :*(
Garrett giving her a little CPR.
She opened her eyes!
I think she opened her eyes to say goodbye.
Blake has been an amazing Princess Yoshi care giver. He kept her cage clean, water fresh, and above all, gave her daily love and attention. We really loved this little Yoshi bug.
Now she is riding Harleys, playing chess, and enjoying life across the Hamster rainbow bridge.
Good-bye little bug...
We love you Princess Yoshi. :*(

My 365...
Happy Sunday Planet.
I did not sleep very well last night. The usual day-to-day worries that creep in from time to time. You know the ones, jobs, bills, garbage that we can not escape, along with a few other things that I should not be worrying about, but life has decided to bring them on anyway.
Sleep did not come. When it did, it was accompanied by really strange dreams that left me feeling unsettled and even more worried.
I reached for my Android Tablet and decided to check the news stories of the day and was greeted with headlines like...
13 month old baby shot dead.
10 year old boy killed when airport sign falls.
Okay...what? Really planet? Both stories shocked, horrified and saddened me, but even more than those emotions, they made me so thankful for all that is right in my world. At that moment, I felt almost selfish and ridiculous for losing sleep over ordinary turmoils such as bills and time management stress. These news stories were only the tip of the iceberg. Things are happening all across this planet every single second of every single day that are so heart breaking.
I needed to stop thinking about all the stupid things in life that I can fix, and start being more thankful for all the things that matter. My children, my grandchildren, health, family, freedom...those I have in spades. And because of that, my dreams should be all rainbows, unicorns and butterflies. In other words..."Veronica, get over it!"
My thoughts and prayers to all the families who are struggling with loss, illness, pain, sickness and war. We need to work harder human race. We need to get this right.
I love you Blake. <3
Clear skies ahead.
Peace.

And now for my ordinary world...and all the things that are right.
An absolutely brilliant Minecraft artist, Blake.
While playing Minecraft with Blake, I was busy gathering resources to build our house. Meanwhile, Blake is busy gathering sheep?
In the game Minecraft, the only purpose of sheep is their wool. When you first start playing, you only need enough wool to make a bed. But Blake is spending all his time herding dozens of sheep.
Why? To create pixel art with different colors of wool.
He is so freaking amazing that son-o-mine. He has a nice sheep farm going, along with all the resources he needed to dye the wool different colors so that he could create pixel art images of a Pokè Ball, Mario and a Mario Mushroom. Wool block by wool block to create these giant pixel images right in the middle of our Minecraft world.
I love this kid! He is so creative, fun and simply magnificent. :)
And Kirby...
It was a gorgeous day today in Boise. Far too cold for a bike ride, but not too cold to climb up in his tree fort for a bit.
Clear skies ahead.
