My 365...

My civic duty lasted all of 30 minutes.  I had jury duty this morning, and I had been dreading it all week. "Do I have to?  Do I really really have to?"  I was up early so that I could ride my bike downtown.  I figured what the heck, may as well take advantage of an early morning ride since it has been too hot to ride all week.

The ride into town was almost 40 minutes.  I will say it was a delightful 40 minutes.  I checked in to the jury duty room, watched a short video about "My civic duty."  Then the judge walked in and said, "Hello everyone.  I have some good news and some bad news."  The bad news was that the defendant pleaded guilty so there would be no trial.  Really?  This is bad news?  And the good news was that we were not needed and would have the rest of the day off.  Yippee! Yes, this is good news.  It was that easy.  This jury duty gig is not such a bad thing after all.  As I was leaving, a nice lady asked me if I needed my parking validated.  "No thank you, I rode my bike."  She replied with a "Wow!  Good for you!"  Yep...good for me.  :)

Tomorrow is Cooper and Penny day, so I will get to enjoy a visit with my precious grandchildren.  Yay!

 But they are still beautiful.

Happy Hump Day planet!  Just two more days until the weekend.  It has been a nice quiet week up to now, so I really can't complain.

One more week until Blake's birthday, and just 20 days until school starts.  If August wants to slow down a bit, I would not mind at all.  Blake is excited about school, and I am excited about Blake being excited, but to be honest, I am a bit stressed.  I know he will do great.  It will be an adjustment, but everything will be okay.  :)

She is back!  I opened the front door and was greeted by Sookie, just sitting on the front porch looking up at me  I think she loves us.
A delicious chocolate cheesecake baked for me by my daughter-in-law Amber.  She is the queen of the kitchen!  Thank you Amber.

My 365...

I woke up feeling a little off today.  Maybe I was missing Casey, he has been gone all weekend.  I felt the need to get out and get some fresh air and clear my brain.  There is no better cure for that than riding my bike, so Blake and I are taking a early evening ride, then stopping off somewhere for dinner.

Amber and the children will be spending the evening here too, and that always cheers me up.  I truly enjoy their company.

I will posts pictures when we get home from our fabulous ride!  Hope your Sunday has been awesome.  :)










 We paused for a burger.  It was too hot for me to eat much, but Blake enjoyed his.
