My 365...
Happy New Year's Eve!
We are enjoying a nice evening tonight, my Blake and I. Garrett and Casey are out for the evening of course. I made our favorite New Year's Eve snack, spinach/artichoke dip, and we will be toasting in the New Year with grape Kool-Aid. Yep, no alcohol in this here home. We could have done Coke, Pepsi or Dr. Pepper, but that is not nearly as hilarious as grape Kool-Aid. :)
Tomorrow I will see Brandon, Amber and the babies, and our New Year will start off on the right foot!
Have a safe and Happy New Year's Eve everyone. See you next year. :)
Enjoying some delicious spinach/artichoke dip on Ritz crackers.
Yummmy!
Peace.

My 365...
When you have a job to do, do it right. Give it your all, perform with the utmost integrity, and leave no stone unturned. This holds true for any job, especially if the work you do impacts another.
I have worked in the medical industry for the past 29 years in one capacity or another. Whether it be in medical dictation, patient scheduling, insurance processing, pre-authorizations, computer and IT support, medical practice management, and even public relations...and everything I have done, I have done well.
Casey has his jaw surgery scheduled for January. His orthodontist Dr. T, and his staff, have gone above and beyond the call of duty to have his palate expansion and braces approved by insurance, and taken care of. The surgeon, Dr. G, and his staff, have done the same. They have worked hard to see that the surgical procedure is covered by insurance, and everything that Casey needs is taken care of. Dr. T is stage one...check. Dr. G is stage three...check.
Then there is the middle stage. Casey must have his wisdom teeth extracted before surgery. Enter Dr. A and his staff. First of all, we had to wait over a month just to get in for a consultation. Once in, ALL the paperwork submitted to the insurance company for approval was done so with no supporting documentation indicating medical necessity. In other words, Dr. A's staff submitted a request for routine wisdom teeth extraction. WHY???? Another three week waiting for approval...only to receive a denial. And why? Because Dr. A's staff did not do their job. For whatever reason, they completely dropped the ball, causing a two month delay. No consideration for Casey, what he has been through, or what he is facing. There is no excuse for this.
Today I took matters into my own hands. I made all the calls, gathered the supporting documentation of medical necessity from Dr. T and Dr. G, and I submitted the appeal on Casey's behalf. I have faith, and am confident that all of my work will result in approval from insurance so we can proceed on this journey for Casey. However, I am SO disappointed in the people responsible for this unnecessary delay, Dr. A's staff, simply because they failed to do their job correctly. Not fair.
No matter what you do in life, take the time to do your best. Whether you are bagging groceries at the local store, delivering pizza, providing customer service, or providing professional services...you MUST take pride in what you do...and do it well! Everything you do in life impacts someone else. Be aware of this. Be considerate, and take that extra step. It will all come back to you tenfold.
Happy Monday everyone. I hope the planets aligned in your world today. Go the extra mile, be kind to one another.
Until next time...
Peace.

My 365...
We had our first good snow of the season, and it is beautiful outside! Blake could not wait to go outside and play in it. Once again, I am sure the neighbors think I am crazy. Blake is outside bundled in layers of clothes, jackets, snow boots...and there I am taking pictures in short sleeves, shorts and boots. LOL, what can I say? Takes a lot to make this Texas lady cold. You will never see me wearing a coat. :)
Blake and I are also enjoying a new computer game called Starbound. It is very similar to Minecraft and Terraria. The game is still in Beta, but we are loving it thus far!
Hope you are having an awesome weekend planet.
Until next time...

My 365...
It is such a cold, gray day outside today. The sort of day where you just don't even want to get out of bed. My cold has gotten worse, so I could stay in bed all day and no one would complain. But I can't do that. Staying in bed all day would be too depressing. So instead I am enjoying a gaming day with Blake. It will be a filled with Minecraft and Terraria fun...junk food, and rest and relaxation. Our favorite kind of day.
Blake: "Mom, can I tell you who is my most favorite person in the world is?"
Me: "That would be me?"
Blake: "Okay mom, can I tell you who my second most favorite person in the world is?"
Me: "Good save son."
LOL, I love that boy. :)
Hope your first day of December was a good one. And have an awesome Monday, and week ahead.
Peace.

My 365...
Happy Thanksgiving!
Today we had a forever thankful, however gloriously lazy sort of day. My favorite kind. Jack was up early to put the turkey on, so when we woke up, the house smelled amazing! Casey worked late last night, did not get home till this morning, but was able to be home today. Blake and I planned on re-arranging the living room, and setting up the Christmas tree, but after turkey, all we wanted to do was take a nap.
That solo bike ride I took to my doctor's appointment was probably not the best idea, because now I have a terrible cold, but I am not letting that slow me down. I am too silly happy to feel sick. I have no time for that kind of nonsense.
Today was perfect day. I wish Brandon, Amber and the children could have been with us, but that is okay, we can celebrate Thanksgiving with them anytime. Everyday with family should be Thanksgiving. Jack's turkey was perfect! And all my sides came out yummy too. Thank you God for for my beautiful family, and the delicious meal, . *love*
Hope your day was uh-mazing!
Until next time...

My boys. We missed you Brandon!
Dinner was delicious.
