My 365...

"Just five more minutes mama."  That was Blake this morning when I was trying to wake him up for school.  Ordinarily, he leaps out of bed, and is dressed and ready to go by 8:00am.  The thing is, he does not even have to be to school until 9:15, but he loves to hang out with friends in the community center before the bell rings, if he is not on duty for safety patrol.  Not today.  My poor baby was exhausted.  We all are.

It is a good exhausted though.  We put our heads together as a family last night, and we worked it out.  Between Garrett and myself, we were able to bring Casey back to planet earth, with both feet firmly planted here in his home, and back on track with this thing called life.  Let me just pause to take a moment to reflect on how freaking amazing my family is.  Garrett inspires, and Casey listens.  I took the stern, but calm approach, and Garrett kept our heads in the logic zone.  Above all, we hit Casey with the most powerful force on the planet, and that force is family love.

Casey is a remarkable, amazing young man, and I am so proud of him.  His only true fault in life, is that he wears his heart on his sleeve, so he is very easily manipulated by people and situations that take full advantage of that.  He wants to save the world no matter the cost to himself.  In other words, his intentions are pure, but the choices he sometimes makes, are not in his own best interest.  Fortunately, the foundation I have built for my family is a strong one, one that can hold up against any storm.  The big bad wolf that can sometimes be life, could not blow this house down!

The entire experience left us all feeling a little as if we had been run over by a freight train. I am emotionally exhausted, we all are, but we are strong.  Everything is going to be fine.  We have each other, and we have the people who matter most in life surrounding us.  The big bad wolf, and all the people represented by him...can kiss my ass!  Yes, I really did just say that...lol  :)

And dude!  It was just after 1:00am, and my best friend on the planet called.  She read my blog, and knew something was wrong so she called me all the way from Canada.  She reminded me of what really matters in life.  She even took the time to talk to Casey for a bit, and we both really appreciated it.  So Lisa, thank you sis. You are the bomb-diggity and I love you!

I will spend the rest of the week recovering.  Unfortunately, I am still sick, so it has been some serious bed rest for mama.  I had to place weekly family night on hold till next week, which makes me very sad, but I need to get better.  This is the longest I have ever been sick, and I am so over it.  *blargh*  I also need some quiet time to rebuild my spirit.  Us mama's have to keep our spirit strong.

Life is back on track.  I LOVE my family, they love me...and all is well.

Until next time...

Casey has everything he needs in life...a strong family...
...a big brother, who has his back always...

Good friends....

And an awesome set of wheels.  lol :)

"I love you Casey."

"I love you Garrett."
"I love you Brandon and Blake too."  I am the luckiest mama on the planet.  *love*

My 365...

I am not having a good day.  I hate it when that happens.  :*(

One of the hardest lessons for me as a mother, is learning to let go.  All that has ever mattered to me are my children, so letting go is suffocatingly painful.  Letting them make bad choices, letting them fail, letting them fall on their faces is virtually impossible for me.  But a good mother knows that it is necessary.  It is necessary to reach a point in life where you step out of the way, tell them to fly, and pray that they can.  I need to work on that.  I also need to work on not rushing in to apply band aids, and pick up the pieces.  That is not for me to do anymore.  Well, except for Blake.  Blake is 12, and he still gets mommy band aids.  :)

My problem is that I see disaster, I identify horrendously bad choices, and I say STOP!  "Dude, you are running with scissors....you need to STOP!"  Yes, it is a metaphor, no one is running through my house with scissors...but you get the point.

And don't mistake my angst for someone who is controlling.  I am not trying to control anyone, I am simply using the intelligence that the good Lord gave me, and am making observations.  The person, or in this case persons, who are the cause of the conflict we are currently experiencing, will never be accepted by me or ever be welcomed in my home because of the choices they made.  And not because I did not try.  I did, and they proved to me that I was right in my initial assessment of them.  I can say with absolute certainly, that anyone with the slightest modicum of intelligence and decency would not with disagree with me here.

The truth of the matter is, that it is not up to me should my son decide otherwise.  He is an adult, and he can make his own choices.  I will respect that.  I will step aside, and I will let go.  However, the rules of my home will never be compromised or disrespected.  I do have complete and absolute control over what happens in my home.  If that is a problem for anyone...the door swings both ways.

Will my respect for my son be forever changed?  Unfortunately yes, he lied to me.  I am completely disappointed with the choices he is making, and I will not pretend that I am okay with them.  I will always love him. Right now I am feeling angry and betrayed, and rightfully so....but I will get over it.  Eventually.

I have been exhaling all day, and keep forgetting to inhale.  Blue is not a good color on me.  Time to inhale before I pass out.  I need to order up some oxygen.

*sigh*

I would love to say..."this too shall pass"...but unless someone breaks a serious brain cell or two, no good shall come of this.

Something that did make me happy today...another amazing video created by my son Garrett and his friend Travis, for their company Red Mountain Creative.  I love it!

My 365...

Happy Monday planet!

Hope you had an awesome day.  I had a nice restful day, which is a good thing as I am still sick.  Argh!  I think this cold has decided to take up permanent residence in my body.  I may have to call the "Cold Eviction Squad"...or "Ghostbusters"...which ever can give me the better deal.  I am getting really tired of being sick all the time.  :P

Casey is still out of town.  He always manages to get himself stranded, that son of mine.  He goes places with his friends, and for one reason or another, gets stuck there.  It makes me CRAZY, and is very upsetting for him as well.  Now that he has decided to go through with the purchase of the red car, he won't have to worry about that anymore.  He will have his own wheels, and won't have to depend on anyone else.  Yay! He is having a great time, as he loves being in the country, but I know he misses home.  We spent most of the night instant messaging each other.  I am really hoping he makes it home this evening.

Son Garrett and his associates at their company Red Mountain Creative, have released a new video for Therapeutic Associates here in Boise.  I am so proud of him and his friend Travis.  They are doing amazing work.  "Way to go guys!"

"Uhhmmmm Dozer?  Don't look now, but you have a diva growing out of your head."
 "A diva?"
 "Yes, a Miss Lilly photo-bomb."
"Oh her.  No worries mama, I am used to it by now."
"Miss Lilly goes pretty much where Miss Lilly wants to go."  *sigh*

My 365...

I am enjoying a nice, quiet movie day with Blake.  We are watching all of our favorites, including...Ponyo, Howl's Moving Castle, The Secret World of Arrietty and My Neighbor Totoro.  These movies never get old. My cold is getting worse instead of better, so I am a little bit frustrated. This is the longest I have ever been sick.  *grumble*  I am definitely taking it easy this week.  The boys are feeling better though, and that is all that matters to me.  :)

Casey was out of town for the weekend.  Hopefully the weather cooperates, and he will be home this evening.  He really needed a fun weekend away, so I am glad he got to go, but I really miss him when he is gone.

Hope you had a great weekend planet.  Best wishes for an awesome week ahead!

Until next time...
Ducati is hanging out with me this weekend, since his boy Casey is out of town.
He really misses Casey when he is gone.

Miss Lilly thinks Ducati is being a bit of a drama queen.

She would know...she is the biggest drama queen in the house!

My 365...

Hello March.  Why do you have to be so gloomy?  Today has been a rainy, cold day.  I don't mind days like today when I am comfortable and warm inside...and that I am.  :)

I did have surprise visitors yesterday, which was awesome as I was feeling pretty under the weather.  My precious grandson Cooper came into my room with his hands behind his back...

"Grandma Ronica, I have a surprise for you."

"You do Cooper?  I am so excited honey, what is it?"

He gave me a very serious look, and whispered...

"This surprise is only for you."

From behind his back he presented the most magical, tiny, little Ganz Lucky Pocket Token, Froggy.  It is just like the turtle that Blake got me.  I love these so much that I searched online and ordered the owl, ladybug and piggy too.  I am going to have to get a bigger treasure box!

It totally made my day!  "Thank you Cooper."  *love*

Brandon also came to show me his new pet.  He purchased an adorable little reptile...lizard creature, that he had all set up in a lovely terrarium.  It is very cool!

Brandon, Amber and the children had just come from visiting the Idaho Aquarium, where they purchased season tickets.  Amber said Penny really loved the aquarium.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend everyone.

Until next time...

A gloomy, rainy sort of day.
My new treasure from Cooper.  A beautiful little frog to match my turtle.
